“Lovely small village with lots of character and fantastic scenery; regular sound of Church bells. Lots of steep hills and rough stone pathways, pavements are few or very narrow so not good for those with mobility issues. I am overweight and unfit so struggled but managed. There is a UNESCO world heritage trail featuring a series of shrines ending in a Church that can be completed in an afternoon and is well worth the time. Nearby Lenno with small supermarkets, ferry terminal and restaurants can be reached by walking for about 20 minutes. The village itself is on the Greenway, a walking route along the shores of the lake taking in many of the villages and towns. There is a fairly regular bus service from Ossuccio, following a scenic route along the lake and taking about 1 hour to the town of Como and about 15 minutes to Menaggio. If you don’t mind walks and/or public transport, you will be well rewarded by the fantastic views and charm of Ossuccio.”

“Beautiful area. Ossuccio is a very small village. No shops in Ossuccio and not many in the closest villages. Rather few restaurants, not open every day.
Try the "Green Way" for nice walks on roads with little or no traffic in the area- lovely! Or climb the pilgrimage paths up to the church.
Since we found no really good places to swim in the Como Lake, the pool at the recidence Letizia was great to have!
From the neighbouring village Lenno there are boats to all places around the lake. Varenna is very pretty. And Chiavenna (but you cannot go there by boat).
Traffic at the main road is crazy - especially on weekends. Narrow roads and a lot of cars, motorcycles and bikes. Almost no sidewalks makes walking a bit scary especially along the main road.”

“Sehr nahegelegen war ein Supermarkt und in Lenno einige sehr, sehr gute, aber wenige Restaurants. Bei schönem Wetter kann man sehr viel unternehmen: Wanderungen, Spaziergängen, Bootstouren etc.”
