The listed Junkerhaus with its garden is located directly at the foot of the Aremberg castle ruins and thus adjacent to the nature reserve. Aremberg itself is centrally located between Blankenheim and Gerolstein. The German-Belgian Nature Park and the Eifel National Park are just as close as the Freilinger See for swimming.

The Junkerhaus was revitalised in 2009 and completely refurbished to 4-star standards. The Junkerhaus offers 6 rooms and 2 bathrooms. The facilities: - 2 separate children's rooms - a sofa bed for a further 2 people in each of the two living rooms - 32-inch LCD satellite TV, DVD, stereo system - WLAN, telephone, free calls to German landlines - linen for bed, bathroom, kitchen, hairdryer - an additional travel cot for children on request On the ground floor there is a cosy reception hall with a dining table ("Rittersaal") and a large eat-in kitchen with a further dining table, which is equipped with everything you need for a good kitchen, including a dishwasher and two children's dishwashers. dishwasher and two children's chairs. Outdoor area: - in the outdoor area several seating areas - in the shade, in the sun as well as a barbecue - carport for a car / motorbike and a parking space next to the carport.

The Junkerhaus has a long history. It has had many names and purposes: it was the Burgmannshaus, the Forsthaus and the Rentamt, among others. It is an important monument with foundations dating back to the 14th century and many original Renaissance and Baroque details. For example, it has a whitewashed 'Cologne ceiling' from the 16th century and a mansard roof with hand-hewn Moselle slate. It is the main building of a closed courtyard complex with a massive natural stone enclosure. Everyone who passes by here on the Eifelverein hiking trail marvels at this unique property.

    “Positiv: Schöne gepflegte Gartenanlage, viel Platz, abgeschlossenes Grundstück, ideal mit Hund
    Ruhige Lage direkt am Wald Negativ: Gesamtes Haus sehr hellhörig
    sehr alter Dielenboden, welcher sehr gut ins Hauskonzept passt, aber sehr laut knarzt.
    Quietschende und schwer schließende Türen
    Trotz Nachfragen wurde uns erst zur Anreise mitgeteilt, dass das Leitungswasser abgekocht werden muss.
    Infrastruktur derzeit desaströs
    Preis-Leistung steht in der jetzigen Situation in keinem Verhältnis
    Im 2ten Obergeschoß roch es nach Abfluss Freizeit: Nürburgring, Vulkandom”
