It is an important monument with foundations dating back to the 14th century and many original Renaissance and Baroque details. For example, it has a whitewashed 'Cologne ceiling' from the 16th century and a mansard roof with hand-hewn Moselle slate. It is the main building of a closed courtyard complex with a massive natural stone enclosure. Everyone who passes by here on the Eifelverein hiking trail marvels at this unique property.
